|  The Research Library collection is a prized treasure of the American Airpower Heritage Museum and many items are irreplaceable. These guidelines ensure adequate responsibility for this collection's safe and proper care.
The Research Library is maintained for the purpose of historical and academic research.
It is solely a reference library and is open Monday through Thursday 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. It is closed for lunch everyday between 11:30 a.m. and 1:00p.m. The extensions to the library are x2248 and x2249, call if you need someone to escort you back to the library.
- All visitors must be accompanied by paid staff and sign in via the Research Library sign-in sheet.
- Food, beverages or tobacco products are prohibited.
- A guest may remove nothing from the Research Library.
- Only pencils may be used in the Research Library. Ink/ball point pens or markers are not allowed.
- Purses, briefcases, parcels or backpacks must be stowed on the bookshelves by the door.
- Cameras are not allowed without express written permission from the librarian in charge, the director or curator.
- Items may be removed from shelves or files and re-shelved or re-filed by library staff or volunteer only.
- Items should be placed in appropriate areas marked "To be shelved."
- Treat each object with respect and care, as if it were irreplaceable. Wear white gloves when handling WWII books, documents, manuals and all photographic materials.
- Please respect copyright laws.
- Finally, feel free to ask questions if uncertain of anything.
Everyone's patience with the above guidelines is appreciated, as this is what keeps our museum "a cut above." Feel free to stop by the Director's or Education Coordinator's office if you have any questions or concerns. All input is welcomed as a valuable part of this implementation. |
