Entertaining the troops is a high priority to the United States government promoting high morale, which encourages troops to serve their country to their best ability.

To boost morale, the USO began to organize Camp Shows, Inc. in World War II, which provided performances by entertainers as well-known as Bob Hope, Martha Raye, Frances Langford, Joe Brown, Laurel and Hardy, and the Glen Miller Band, as well as lesser known vaudeville performers.

The USO continues their shows today featuring comedians from Steve Martin to Jay Leno as well as music stars such as Billy Joel and Sheryl Crow. To the entertainer, it does not matter where they perform, as long as they get the opportunity to give a show.

Many USO entertainers recount that United States troops are the best audiences for which they have ever performed. A film available for viewing at the museum provides a glimpse of the USO shows through the years.
