"Come fly with us!" Each cadet will experience what a World War II pilot-in-training must have experienced by taking a turn in the museum's Link trainer. Our Link trainer is one of the few remaining and the only one that is in working order. After a ride in the Link, the cadets will put their navigational knowledge to work in a simulated flight to San Angelo in the museum's C-54. Each cadet is given a part to play, be it the pilot or on the ground. Activities include pre-flight check, start up, take off, departure, in flight emergencies, approach, landing, post-flight check, air traffic control and ground marshalling. |
